Fair Haven Baptist Church has grown rapidly from a small group meeting at the Chamber of Commerce building on March 1, 2002 to the current building, which was occupied in February 2006. Milestones along the way were moving to the VFW building after the group became too large to meet in the Chamber of Commerce Building. The VFW building was soon outgrown and a vacant building belonging to Trinity Southern Methodist Church on North Main Street became the temporary home for Fair Haven Baptist in March of 2003. |
| The name Fair Haven was chosen from a scripture in Acts 27:8. The group recalled a statement made by Charles Canter during a Sunday School lesson when he got to that verse. "And we came into a place called Fair Haven..." He remarked that "Fair Haven" would be a good name for a church. The name would later be emphasized by a missions statement that Fair Haven Baptist Church is "A Grace Driven Church in a Grace Needing World." |

Bro. Hiram LeMay served as counsel for the group called Fair Haven Fellowship until Bro. Charles Williams was called on May 24, 2002. Senior Pastor Williams, or B.C. as he is affectionately known, would be joined by Mike Smith, Associate Pastor of Worship and Education, and then by Rob McKamey, Associate Pastor of Youth, who also was handed the responsibility of Office Manager. In 2007, the church voted to call Scott Reed as Associate Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism. Joan Thomas was also called as Director of Children's ministries.
